Jan Luley started giving piano lessons at the age of 16 and he still likes to teach today. From 1992 till 1997 he studied music education for jazz, rock and popular music in Arnhem/Netherlands.
His workshops and piano lessons contain subjects such as improvisation in jazz and blues, jazz harmonics, voicing concepts, solo piano styles and accompany techniques in band situations, eartraining, phrasing and rhythm training. Due to his stilistical variability Jan Luley teaches all jazz piano styles between New Orleans jazz, blues, boogie-woogie, gospel, swing, bebop and modern jazz piano.
Over the years he was teaching at numerous jazz workshops and he regularly organizes instrumental and vocal workshops with different thematic priorities.
